2015 Honda Accord

Honda Accord was the first Japanese car to get on the American market, and it was the best-selling car model in the U.S. between 1982 and 1997. The Japanese automaker is doing all it can to rich this height again as it commences production of the 2015 Honda Accord.

Changes for 2015 Accord

Changes offered by the car have not been disclosed but we are certain that this upcoming Honda Accord 2015 model will boast of a spacious interior, an excellent performance and an improved fuel economy.

According to some online reports, most of the changes in the car will be related to its design and look. The Interior will come equipped with some innovative technologies, and some high quality materials will be used to bring a much needed improvement to the interior. Some few changes are also expected under the hood but there will be nothing revolutionary.

Trim Levels

The 2015 Accord will come in four different trim levels: EX, EX-L, LX-S and Touring. It is also expected that the car will offer a Hybrid model.

Redesign of 2015 Honda Accord

Most of what we have at this point on the styling of this upcoming Japanese car are mere speculations. There are rumors that there will be no major changes in the exterior look of the car; the dimensions, shape and the exterior styling will remain as they are in the outgoing model. However, we expect some minor changes in the styling of alloy wheels. Some new colors are also expected to join the existing ones.

Now to the interior, as we mentioned earlier, the 2015 Accord will come equipped with many impressive gadgets. What you will get in one depend largely on the trim level you go for. The standard features include: heated and cooled seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, remote engine start, digi-cam photography, multi-functional infotainment system with a large touch screen, World Pandora music interface, Bluetooth, USB port, and a navigation system. Safety features like airbags, rear-view mirror, backup camera and forward collision warning will also be offered.

2015 Honda accord Engine Units

A number of engine units will be offered on Honda Accord 2015 sedan. A 185 horsepower and 181 pounds of torque, “Earth Dreams” 2.4 -liter 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder engine with direct injection mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT transmission will be offered as the base engine in the Japanese, European and Australian markets, while a 3.5L 24-valve SOHC V6 unit which delivers 278 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque is designed for the U.S. market (this unit is optional on other markets). The V6 will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The current Accord Hybrid model uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson engine, electric motor and lithium-ion battery. The plug-in system generates 196 hp and 226 lb-ft of torque when combined with a CVT transmission. The car can go up to 13 miles in pure electric mode. We expect the same engine unit used on the car to be offered on the 2015 model.

Release Date and Price

This ninth generation Honda Accord, which will be manufactured in Ohio, U.S., will get to the dealerships during the third quarter of this year after it has made its official debut at one of the International Motor Shows in the beginning of the year. The new Accord will be available for between $ 24,000 and $ 35.800, while interested buyers will have to pay about $ 41.000 for the hybrid version.

Competition

The 2015 Honda Accord will compete in the mid-size car segment with the Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry and Ford Fusion when it gets on the market. Over the years, the Honda Accord has created a nice reputation for itself as a high-selling car model. With the innovative design, reliability and exceptional engine units the upcoming model promises, we expect it to keep to this legacy.
