2015 Acura RDX

We expect that the 2015 Acura RDX will now be more attractive, more cost-effective and more fuel efficient than previous models.  After it was completely upgraded for the 2013 model year, the second-generation Acura RDX got some modifications to its equipment in 2014, and its overall look will be improved again for the next model year. The Acura RDX’s is a luxury cross aimed at those in the market for a cost effective car that handles smoothly. Its construction is based on the previous-generation Honda Accord (the smaller sized TSX shared a bone with the European version of the Honda Accord).

Since the current Acura RDX model is doing very well in the market, the Acura 2015 RDX model will probably be a carried over edition. The outgoing RDX came with a major exterior and interior redesign, and got new engine but there is always a room for improvement; buyers would always like to see some upgrades. The manufacturer will probably retain those features that made the outgoing model a success in the market, and correct the flaws noticed on it. So, Acura RDX 2015 model will come with some visual and performance upgrades. The buying public should expect few alterations in the styling department with the higher trim levels getting more equipment and wheel-base dimension correction.

2015 RDX Exterior

The upcoming RDX will retain the Advanced Compatibility Anatomist – ACE body structure that came with the 2014 model. This body structure gave the outgoing Acura RDX a high score at crashing tests. It reduces collision effects by absorbing energy during collision.

The front end of the 2015 RDX will look more muscular than the previous model with the controversial “beak” grille toned down. Other exterior details expected include a crossover trip elevation and more effective fenders which will give the car an off-road feel. There will also be some smooth curves that will make it look smaller.

Interior space and Features of the Acura RDX 2015

The new car will have a spacious cabin, with enough space for the rear passengers and 76.9 cubic feet of cargo area. The interior will offer a great amount of soft-touch materials, giving the SUV an outstanding feel. List of basic features expected inside the new RDX includes- automatic headlights, a sunroof, Acura / ELS surround sound system with seven speakers, voice recognition, GPS, electrical power tailgate, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, rearview camera and much more.

2015 Acura RDX Engine

A 3.5-liter aluminum-alloy -24 valve SOHC i- VTEC V6 electric motor will come under the hood of the Acura RDX 2015 model. The unit was introduced in 2014 to replace the previous model’s 2.3-liter I-4 turbo engine. It produces 273 hp @ 6200 and 251 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,000 rpm, and has a Compression Ratio of 10.5:1. It will be mated to a 6-speed hard-wired transmission. A front-wheel drive is the standard drive option and an all-wheel drive will be optional. The new Acura RDX model also features a Sequential SportShift paddle and Grade Reason Control System with Intelligent Control Method.

2015 RDX fuel economy

The estimated fuel economy figures are 20/28/23 mpg city/highway/combined with FWD and 19/27/22 mpg city/highway/combined with the AWD.

Just like the previous edition, the new Acura RDX will still give exceptional highway performance. Its performance on a highway is just like what you would get from a luxury car. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds.
